Facials FAQs
1. Are your facials suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes and every treatment is fully customised, and we prioritise barrier support and skin integrity. Products and techniques are selected specifically for your skin type, including sensitive or reactive skin.
2. How often should I get a facial?
For optimal skin health, a facial every 4–6 weeks is recommended. This allows us to support your skin’s natural renewal cycle and maintain consistent results.
3. Who are skin consultations best suited for?
Skin consultations are ideal for first-time clients or anyone unsure which treatment or skincare approach is right for them. They allow us to fully understand your skin before recommending treatments or products.
4. What’s the difference between a consultation and a facial?
A consultation focuses on analysis, education, and planning, while a facial is hands-on treatment. The consultation helps us create a personalised roadmap for your skin, ensuring future treatments are targeted and effective.
5. Can I do a skin consultation virtually?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available and just as thorough. We assess your skin visually, discuss your concerns and routine in detail, and provide personalised recommendations you can follow from home.
6. Do I need a consultation before booking a facial?
While it’s not mandatory, a consultation is highly recommended—especially for first-time clients or those with ongoing skin concerns. It allows us to tailor treatments with greater precision and care.
7. Will there be downtime after a facial?
Most clients experience an immediate glow with little to no downtime. Mild redness can occur after extractions or dermaplaning, but this typically subsides quickly.
8. Is dermaplaning suitable for everyone and does the hair grow back thicker?
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, but it may not be recommended for active acne or certain skin conditions. A thorough consultation ensures the treatment is right for you. Hair does not grow back thicker or darker—it returns as soft vellus hair, just as before.
9. Do you perform extractions during facials?
Extractions are performed only when needed and always with care. We focus on gentle, skin-respecting techniques to minimise irritation and support healing
10. What makes Tekoa Collection treatments different
Our treatments are rooted in skin health, not trends. We mainly use plant-based, carefully researched formulations and take a personalised, barrier-focused approach—ensuring treatments are both restorative and results-driven.
